About

The 'Richmond 110 Project'
Richmond Theatre is 110 years old this year, and is one of the region's leading live entertainment venues, showcasing the best in touring drama, dance, musical theatre, opera and pantomime.

'Richmond Theatre 110' is a community history project that invites local people to take the lead in telling the story of the Theatre since it opened its doors in 1899.  The project was conceived in consultation with local community groups and heritage organisations and is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Peter Beckwith Harrow Trust and Richmond Theatre Trust.

Alongside the exhibition project, a group of young people who are new to the theatre will be working with a playwright to create a new play based on people's memories of the Theatre.  The anniversary year will come to an end with the launch of the exhibition and a celebratroy reading of the new play, staged by the young people and a professional production team on the main stage at Richmond Theatre.
